MSc 1979 Jagiellonian University; Ph.D
1987 Jagiellonian University. Principal expertise is in nutrient
chemistry of different types of water bodies; distribution of
organic matter,: particulate organic matter in streams, caves
and lakes in High Tatra Mountains; decomposition of
allochthonous organic matter in mountain streams and caves;
acidification processes of high mountain lakes - lake water and
precipitation macrochemistry. Current research projects include:
Ecological characteristics of small high mountain water bodies
of the High Tatra and Western Tatra Mountains. Transport and
deposition of organic matter in a high mountain stream (EC -
MOLAR).

Tasks:
IFB-PAS is responsible for field sampling in the Polish Tatra
lakes. Atmospheric deposition and water chemistry analyses are
undertaken as will the analysis of invertebrates and
diatoms. Long-term datasets of meteorological and limnological
parameters from the Dlugi chain of lakes are continued and
contributed to the EMERGE database.
